What is Microneedling
Microneedling is an innovative tool in anti-aging skin care. Microneedling is a treatment that helps lift and tighten the skin while providing texture improvement for all ages and skin types. With Micro Skin Needling, you can get more even, younger-looking skin, without the side effects or downtime of cosmetic surgery and lasers.
Why try Microneedling
Microneedling stimulates your body’s natural cellular regeneration to help tighten and lift skin, while minimizing many common skin problems. Microneedling is used to revitalize the skin and can can be combined with other treatments. Our technicians at Pure Health Beverly Hills will be more than happy to help you design a skin care plan that addresses various skin concerns, including:
- Uneven skin tone
- Texture enhancement
- Dull skin
- Large pores
- Skin laxity
- Difficulty applying makeup
Add on PRP to Microneedling
Microneedling with PRP uses the power of your blood’s platelets to revitalize skin and encourage cellular turnover. Platelets have the ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production. This unique facial can help repair skin issues, including uneven skin tone, wrinkles and fine lines, dull complexion, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars. PRP treatments can be added to any microneedling treatment.
Add on Hyaluronic Acid Fillers to Microneedling
Hyaluronic acid fillers can also be used with microneedling. Hyaluronic acid helps with smoothing out lines around the nose and mouth, restoring volume to sunken cheeks or temples, diminishing vertical lip lines or plump lips, smoothing chin creases, and improving facial symmetry.

Though most people are great candidates for micro needling and can be treated very successfully, there are certain people with pre-existing conditions that may keep them from being candidates for this service. The following contraindications will eliminate someone as a candidate for a micro needling procedure: Hemophilia, Skin Diseases, Eczema, Autoimmune Diseases, Allergies, History of Cold Sores, History or Tendency to Keloid Scar, History of Cancers, Acute Infections, Broken or Bleeding Scabs.
Yes. Several skin imperfections, which are generally treated with lasers or IPL, are able to be addressed with a series of skin needling treatments. Microneedling treatments are non-ablative, or less invasive, do not cause trauma to the skin, and are a safe, effective tool in an anti-aging skin care regimen. You won’t have to avoid the sun after treatment, though sun protection is always recommended.
No. We use medical, prescription strength numbing cream to minimize or eliminate any type of discomfort for our micro needling procedures. Therefore, no pain is experienced. Some may report a mild sensitivity around the orbital region. However, this is very temporary and quickly resolved once the micro needle pen device moves onto a less sensitive area.
Since we numb for this procedure, we include the numbing time. Numbing time is about 20-30 minutes and the actual micro needling process itself usually takes about 15-30 minutes, depending on skin thickness, areas being treated, and any target issues. In short, the average total treatment time for a micro needling session is one hour.
There is very minimal downtime with micro needling. However, you can expect to have 1-3 days of pink skin and some sensitivity. There will most likely be pinpoint bleeding during the treatment, which will stop almost immediately. The skin tends to take a day or two to flake off, revealing a fresh, glowing, brighter layer of new skin. It is advised that you stay away from the sun and avoid strenuous exercise, sweating, and pollution for 1-2 weeks following treatment. Additionally, it is advised that hot showers, baths, hot-tubs and saunas are avoided for about two weeks after Micro Needling as well.
Micro needling is a professional procedure that is performed in a board-certified doctor’s office only. In an effort to save money, some people might opt for home rollers instead. Unlike professional micro needling done by a licensed medical professional, rollers do not puncture the skin hardly at all. While this might seem a less painful option, you will not achieve the same results. The punctures made during professional micro needling are designed to induce collagen production and skin rejuvenation. With a roller device, you may achieve brighter skin at best, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. If you’re interested in more dramatic, long-term results, micro needling is a much better option than a store-bought roller device.
